BONES
It is a human characteristic to love little animals, especially if they're attractive in some way.
SPOCK
Doctor, I am well aware of human characteristics. I am frequently inundated by them, but I've trained myself to put up with practically anything.
BONES
Spock, I do not know too much about these little Tribbles yet, but there is one thing that I have discovered.
SPOCK
What is that, Doctor?
BONES
I like them... better than I like you.

SCOTT
Pain and delight he said up above.
BONES
I'm sure you noticed the delight aspects of this place.
CAPTAIN JAMES T. KIRK
Yes, I certainly did notice those delightful aspects.

Call Chekov and tell him to send my stomach down!

BONES
You have a point, Spock?
SPOCK
Yes, always, doctor.

BONES
Those people are friends of ours out there, if they're still alive.
SPOCK
Precisely.
BONES
Well the odds are not good.
SPOCK
No. I would say approximately 400...
BONES
[interrupting] Don't quote odds and don't give me anymore dispassionate logic, Mr. Spock. Just keep looking for them.
SPOCK
I would welcome a suggestion, Doctor, even an emotional one, as to where to look.
BONES
The first time you've ever asked me for anything, and it has to be an occasion like this.

BONES
That's right, and in this derivative, mixed with alcohol it merely deadens certain nerve inputs to the brain.
SCOTT
Oh, well, any decent blend of Scotch'll do that.
BONES
Oh? Well, one good slug of this, and you could hit a man with phaser stun, and he'd never feel it, or even know it.
SCOTT
Does it make a good mix with Scotch?

MR. SPOCK
[speaking at Kirk's memorial service] A few hours ago, the captain elected to remain on board the Defiant so that three members of his crew would have the best chance of returning safely to the Enterprise. His concern was not only for them, but for all the members of the crew of this ship. You all know the sequence of events: We were fired upon by the Tholian ship. At that time, Captain Kirk may have been alive. I deemed it necessary to return the Tholian fire for the safety of the Enterprise. The Tholian ship has been disabled. But, as a result of the battle, we must accept the fact that Captain Kirk is no longer alive.
BONES
[Suddenly a crewman goes berserk. He is grabbed by by three security men and carried out] Take him to Sickbay. Put him in restraint.
MR. SPOCK
[continues] I shall not attempt to voice the quality of respect and admiration which Captain Kirk commanded. Each of you must evaluate the loss in the privacy of your own thoughts.

CAPT. KIRK
I want to know what killed these tribbles.
BONES
I haven't figured out what keeps them alive yet.
0
SPOCK
They do indeed have one redeeming characteristic.
BONES
What is that?
SPOCK
They do not talk too much.
0
BONES
They reproduce at will. And brother, have they got a lot of will!
